Excellent fishing today! Got plenty of good sized mackerel.
June 21, 2017
After two days on the dock due to bad weather, we got out to a great day of mackeral fishing. Hopefully this continues for the rest of the week.
June 11, 2017
After a very poor trip on Saturday, we rebounded today with a good catch of mackeral. Everyone had more than enough to take home and we even had some left over for the tackle shop. The catch far exceeded my expectations.

Remembering D-Day (June 6, 1944.) For those of you who are unaware of what this day in history represents…you should not be considered to be an American. Our European “allies” would be well served with a little historical refresher course as well.
In any event, fishing over the weekend was ok..not great. We did better on Saturday than Sunday, but there were decent amounts of mackeral to be caught on both days. The weather looks like it will finally be summer toward the end of the week with a warm weekend forecast on tap.
May 30, 2017
Mackeral fishing was very good over the weekend with Sunday being the better of the two days. Monday’s miserable weather kept us in port. It wasn’t rough, just cold and raw. Hopefully, the fishing will be good again this upcoming weekend with some sunshine to boot!
May 25, 2017
Opening weekend went well. We had a good showing of both haddock and cod. The downside was that we cannot keep any of the cod as per federal regulation and a large portion of the haddock were undersized. There were a few mackeral to be had as well. Please note, on Sunday May 28, the half day fishing trip will depart at 9 am rather than our normal time of 8 am. This is due to the extremely low tide that will occur just after 8 am. To avoid damage to the boat from sriking bottom, we need to wait for the tide to come in and refill the harbor with sufficient water to maneuver safely. Hopefully, this set of circumstances will only occur once or twice during the season.
April 25, 2017
We are busy in the boatyard getting the Atlantic Queen ready for the new season. We will open for half day fishing on Saturday, May 20 with trips on Saturdays and Sundays as well as Memorial Monday at 8 AM. We will begin operating every day on June 10. When we open, we will most likely be targeting haddock, reds and pollock. Mackeral fishing usually begins around Memorial Day. When the mackeral arrive, we will be targeting them once again.
Monday Sept. 5 (Labor Day)
Yesterday’s trip was excellent on the mackeral (a surprise after a slow week of fishing). However, tropical storm Hermine precluded any follow-up trips. With the kids all back in school, we have ended our fishing program for 2016. With great weather and very good to excellent fishing all summer, we can call it a great season. We thank all of our fishing friends and look forward to seeing you again in the spring.
August 26, 2016

The mackerel fishing is as good as it’s ever been!
June 22 2016
After spotty fishing over the weekend, the mackeral returned with a vengeance on tuesday and wednesday. All anglers had more than they could handle.
June 17, 2016
There were plenty of fish around, but only some were biting. Overall, the fishing was ok, but not great.
June 12, 2016
Fishing was a bit slow today. The rough conditions made it difficult.
June 11, 2016
The mackerel were biting left and right. It was a good day on the water.
June 4, 2016

May 22, 2016
Yet another good day on the water! Each passenger was able to take home a few haddock each! Quite a few were thrown back due to being undersized, but they are out there! Along with the cod; quite a few were caught, but all were released!
May 21, 2016
Today was a good day out on the water! A total of 50-55 haddock and around a dozen or so cusk were caught between everyone on the boat! It was a great way to start off the season!
May 1, 2016
The federal officials finally published the new regulations: Recreational fishermen now have a bag limit of 15 haddock per person with a minimum size of 17″. Also, each angler will be allowed to retain 1 cod at 24″ minimum size during the months of August and Sept. We finally have some rules that a somewhat fair to the recreational fishermen and make sense at least in the haddock dept
April 24. 2016
Rumor has it that the federal fish regulators are planning on easing the catch limits on recreational haddock as of May 1. Word is that the individual bag limit for haddock will be increased from 3 fish per angler to between 12 and 15 fish per angler at a minimum size of 17″. The move certainly makes sense and will be well received by the fishing public.
We plan on opening for half day fishing on Saturday, May 21 with trips on Saturday and Sunday st 8 am until we begin trips every day on June 11.
We still have a couple of weekend dates open for all day charters in May. Please call 603-964-5220 for more information.
I am sick of sanding and painting all winter but the Atlantic Queen II certainly looks great and we are looking forward to getting out fishin’!

August 17, 2015
Fishing holds steady but periodically we will experience a dead 15 or 20 minutes…perhaps there are a few predators around?
August 12, 2015
After the storm passed, this morning’s mackerel fishing was excellent…lots of fish, blue skies and calm seas.
August 5, 2015

July 30, 2015

July 5, 2015
Mackerel fishing continues to be good, but with a slight drop off from the quantities we have been getting. Just goes to show nothing is set in stone! A decent catch of mackerel, beautiful weather and a calm sea made today a hit! Join us tomorrow at 8 am!
July 4, 2015
Mackerel fishing has been SPECTACULAR these past few days, with extra good luck on our nation’s day of independence! A little over cast but calm on the water, perfect for fishing. Looking forward to blue skies and sun tomorrow. Come join us on our 8 am trip!

June 25, 2015
What a beautiful day for fishing! And our proximity to the Isles of Shoals is paying off! Catching the mackerel like crazy, just 20 minutes from the harbor. How can you beat that?

Three totes full of mackeral today! More than enough for everyone on board and more than enough to stock our bait shop!
June 21, 2015
A cold and rainy Father’s Day wasn’t a wash out for this crew! We steamed ahead to score a good amount of mackeral for all the dads on their day!

May 25, 2015
Some haddock and quite a few throw back cod were caught today. Not bad but not as good as yesterday.
May 24, 2015
With day one of the season under our belts day two went very well. The haddock were abundant today. Everyone had something to take home. Looking forward to a gorgeous Memorial Day!
May 23, 2015
It was a chilly but successful first day of the season here at Atlantic Fishing Fleet. Many haddock were caught on this mornings half day trip. Tomorrow looks to be a promising day with sunshine and warm weather!
May 22, 2015
We are finally ready to go fishing. Looking forward to three days this weekend (May 23,24 & 25). We plan on targeting mackeral but the word is that there may be some haddock to be found on the half day circuit!
May 13, 2015
We are finally getting ready for our opening day on Saturday May 23. We will be running half day morning trips at 8 am for mackeral and maybe a few haddock since we cannot catch any codfish under the new federal regulations. I am done commenting on the wisdom of penalizing recreational anglers for the failure of the government bureaucrats. On a lighter note, we are continuing our “Kids Fish Free ” program this year. Any kid under 12 goes on the Atlantic Queen II for free (rod included) when accompanied by a paying adult. (1 kid per adult) You’ve got no excuse to leave the kids at home now!
October 5, 2014
A great day of “Excellent” mackeral fishing with a light crowd on a somewhat lumpy sea is how our open-boat season closes. We have a half-day private charter next Saturday (October 11) morning, and that is the last fishing trip of the 2014 season. Thanks to those who came along. We hope to see you all again next year…if the federal bureaucrats will finally wake up to the fact that Grampa and his grandson are not responsible for depleting the fish stocks with their fishing poles!!!
September 28, 2014
You’ve heard the expression, ” A bad day fishing beats a good day working!”? Well, today started out as one of those. Some stops, no fish. Some stops, no catch. But things picked up. And pick up they did! By morning’s end we encountered good numbers of mackeral, and had fishing folk landing more than enough of them to put the trip solidly in the “Excellent” column. We’ll do it again next weekend. Come on down!
September 21, 2014
Another short trip for long gain. As if the mackeral had never left: “Excellent” fishing!
September 20, 2014
An okay crowd aboard the AQ II on a rather brisk, somewhat snappy mid-September morn as we set out for parts unknown… Actually, we didn’t go far, made a few stops only to change perspective, and filled the boat with mackeral. “Excellent” mackeral fishing! As good as it’s been all year. We’ve got another trip tomorrow, so come on down!
September 13, 2014
Back to mackeral fishing with a pretty decent mid-September crowd, under somewhat less than ideal conditions. The fishing was “Good”, but not quite “Very Good”. Still, the folks that wanted fish had fish. We’ll do it all over again tomorrow. Spaces are still available.
